MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE

2018             Elected as the Communications and Sponsorships officer for the CCRMOA (central coast resident medical officer association). This role involved liaising with medical indemnity insurance companies, banks and locum companies to obtain financial support for CCRMOA events. It also involved communication with all CCLHD medical staff via social media to promote social and skills events and registration with the CCRMOA. Secondary roles in the CCRMOA included organizing end-of-term events, intern orientation week and supporting International Medical Graduates to incorporate into the hospital environment.

2017                         Elected as welfare and socials representative for the CCRMOA. This role involved heading several projects such as:

- Monthly social events throughout 2017 – hikes, yoga, art classes

- Doctors Day in May – Mental health day in May 2017

              Conducted a 1-year clinical trial at The Black Dog Institute. This involved conducting an RCT of 40 participants. The research looked at whether a novel form of non-invasive brain stimulation could be used to improve memory and attention in elderly participants with mild cognitive impairment. Publication in the Journal of Restorative Neurology and Neuroscience.

2012-2013                USYD Summer Research Scholarship.

                                    6 weeks of clinical research with USYD conducted at RPA hospital. This involved observing clinics and collating data on the adverse effects of a novel drug for treating hypercholesterolaemia, a PCSK-9 monoclonal antibody

2011-2012                USYD Summer Research Scholarship

                                    6 weeks of literature-based research with USYD conducted at Westmead Childrens hospital looking at the evidence for the use of BOTOX in children with severe cerebral palsy.

2017                                     Performed an audit on Discharge Summaries within the Neurology department at GDH and presented findings at Neurology Grand Rounds.
